Structural quality (SS), suitable for roll forming, pre-painted (as specified below) recommended

Minimum Carbon content of the base steel to be 0.12%

Minimum elongation is to be 22%, 25%-30% is ideal

Hardness range shall be 70-78 Rb

        23.5 inches to 24 inches (optimum is 23.75 inches)

Or    59.69 cm to 60.96 cm (optimum is 60.325 cm)

COIL DIAMETER

Maximum outside diameter: 40 inches or 101.60 cm

Inside diameter: 19 – 21 inches or 48.25 – 53.35 cm 

COIL WEIGHT

Maximum: 5,000 U.S. pounds or 2,270 kilograms

STEEL GRADE 

Grade 40: Yield strength – 40,000 psi or 2,800 kg/cm² or 28 kg/mm²

Grade 50 Class 1: Yield strength – 50,000 psi or 3,500 kg/cm² or 35 kg/mm²

THICKNESS

Options:         0.026   to   0.040 inch

Or                     0.660   to   1.016 mm

TOLERANCE

   -0.000 (no thickness less than specified) to + 0.008 inch

Or  -0.000 (no thickness less than specified) to + 0.20 mm

GALVANIZED COATING

Class G-90 (Z-275) for galvanized; Class G-60 (Z-180) can be used for pre-painted although G-90 (Z-275) is preferred

Regular spangle, chemically treated, lightly oiled with evaporative lubricant for galvanized only coils

GENERAL PAINT SPECIFICATIONS FOR PRE-PAINTED COILS

Coating topside:Suitable for roll forming. 25 microns total dry thickness, polyester, with internal lubricants, on primer.  NCCA II-1or ECCA T4 pencil hardness HB – 2H.  NCCA Standard “T” bend Test method or ASTM D4145-83 (must pass 2T bend test, no pick off with Scotch #610 tape).  ECCA test to 1T is also acceptable.  Coating test to ECCA T1 at every coil.  Light wax or evaporative lubricant to be applied to exterior of paint.

Backside:12 microns total dry thickness, epoxy primer and polyester wash coat.
